Bourne End photo Burnend (first recorded 1236) "End of the Stream" is where the Wye flows into the Thames. Nestling in the Chilterns alongside the river, the village has been the home of papermakers, lacemakers and brickmakers. Today Bourne End is a thriving village close to London and even closer to the open countryside of the Chiltern Hills in central southern England.

Blind Lane cleared and ready PDF Print E-mail
Written by Barrie Penfold

Blind Lane Play AreaIt has taken time but now plans for improving play equipment in Blind Lane Recreation Ground can move forward. A few months ago the large Basket Swing was moved out and taken down to be part of the refurbishment at Watery Lane's open space. The Aerial Zip Slide came out two weeks ago and is being stored until a new location can be found. People using the Recreation Ground have been looking at the notices showing new play equipment for both toddler and junior use.

Older children will be able to use a pair of new swings and an exciting Multi-Play unit. The existing roundabout will be moved and refurbished. Little ones will have new swings, two new springers and a smaller Multi-Play unit.

Now the play area is cleared and ready for new play equipment

Anyone visiting the Recreation Ground can have a look at the notices and see that the play area is cleared and ready to receive the new play equipment. It will delight local families who have known, and loved, this little park over many years. In recent years they have been saddened by the lack of play equipment there. Why not call in, check out what is planned and look forward to seeing children enjoying this exciting range of new things to enjoy.
