On page 3 Bourne End Residents Association uses the space to highlight important issues from the restoration of the Claytons Bell Tower to the hope that the Day Centre, scheduled for closure by Bucks County Council, could be saved.
On page 4 there’s a picture of what has now become the Wooburn Club. Few people will be able to recall this peaceful setting around a village green but the club has great plans to provide facilities for clubs and groups as well as entertainment on a regular basis. A new youth club for Bourne End is the exciting story on page 9 with the appeal for volunteers who want to be involved in this venture. There will be lots more news about this in future issues of Target. Local Lives on page 13 meets the lady from Wooburn Green who has taken on the role of organising the Jubilee event on The Green which will take place on Sunday 3 June when everyone is welcome, the more the merrier. Lots more to read in this issue from the Fairtrade week to sailing and a clear up at Little Marlow Cemetery. Footballers from Bourne End Junior Sports Club are pictured at Adams Park, the home of Wycombe Wanderers, and the Rotary Club welcomed its National President to a new-and-potential members event. Not forgetting all the usual club reports and a host of pictures on the back page. Click here to open Volume 48 Issue 2. Planning issues in Wooburn Green are highlighted on the front page of the April/May issue. At the same time Golden Anniversary celebrations take off with a great evening at The Centre. On page 2 Target’s editor explains why he is moving on but takes the opportunity to wish the magazine well in the future. It’s good to know that he and his family have enjoyed their time in Bourne End and, more recently, made some good friends at the Community Centre.
