Selecting Saturday 12 June as the date for the 2010 Village Fete was done long ago. Well before the World Cup schedule was published. So there's a bit of magic in the fact that the Village Fete and England's first game are on the same day. To get everyone in the right frame of mind the Village Fete will bring community groups and individuals together during the morning with stalls around the Centre, refreshments, jazz and sizzling hot dogs. |

Nineteen years ago when Forum Players first staged 'The Owl and the Pussycat' Brenda Phelps took on the role of the Plum Pudding Flea (always hungry and will eat anything). Then her young daughter Emily was one of the Jumblies and, as committed supporters of amateur drama, it saved on baby-sitters when all the family were involved in shows. |

Wooburn Narkovians Cricket Club is looking for people to get involved with the club as match officials (Umpires, Scorers) for the forthcoming league season. The club runs two Saturday league teams and one, occasionally two, Sunday friendly teams as well as a range of youth teams. |

The exuberance of a Johann Strauss waltz is followed by the Debussy’s haunting description of a young deer enjoying a summer afternoon in the forest. The majesty of the well-known overture to Wagner’s opera Tannhäuser is set alongside Josef Suk’s romantic melodies telling of the love between a young Prince and Princess in a Czech fairy tale. |
