Smiles outside Smiles - thumbnailCollecting the silverware is always a delight and the smile on Simon Prior's face says it all. He had just collected Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council's annual award for the best shopfront which was presented at the Annual Parish Meeting on Tuesday 18 May. Simon Prior is the owner of Smiles Fish and Chip Shop on The Parade and he knows how important it is to present an inviting face to the local community.

Simon thanked the Parish Council and those who had supported the award and said how pleased he was to be a winner. He introduced Teresa to everyone and explained that she was one of the members of staff who customers usually saw when they called in either to collect their fish and chips or to sit and enjoy them in the popular eating area. Simon was delighted that the new shopfront had made such an impact on The Parade.

Smiles has been open for just over a year and the shopfront design is similar to Simon's other fish ands chip shop in Beaconsfield. After the award ceremony Simon listened with interest to a short presentation about the work of Wye Valley Volunteers and spoke later about the idea of helping with fund raising for this vital local service.
