2010 AGM starts with thanks
Written by Barrie Penfold

BEBCA logoOn a gloriously hot sunny Friday evening there was an excellent attendance at the AGM of the Community Association. Thanks from President Penny Walsh in her opening address and encouragement for more support from those who use the Centre's facilities. This message was continued in the Annual Report presented by Hon Secretary Barrie Penfold who explained how important it was to have good attendance at meetings so that improvements could be made to ensure that the Community Centre provided the very best facilities locally.

Special thanks came with flowers for the President. Those present heard that her "hands-on" involvement was a huge asset to the Association and its fund raising activities. At the same time there was thanks to her husband Brian who has supported Penny's role at all times. Thirty years of producing Target magazine was recognised with a gift and flowers for former sub-editor Barrie Penfold. Barrie had to smile for the camera in the hands of the new editor Andy West.

Representatives of local organisations who regularly submit copy to Target were encouraged to have a chat with Andy after the meeting. During "Any Other Business" a small group of members who use the bar facilities put forward some proposals for future discussion. Association Chairman Jeremy Ilic said these would be discussed by the Executive Committee and reported back. Then it was time to bring another AGM to an end and to look forward to another year of activity at the Community Centre.
