Jubilee pictures feature throughout the issue as special events took place to celebrate this special royal anniversary. You’ll find them on the front page, page 2, 13, 18, 22, 27 and 40.

There’s news of Wooburn Festival on the front page and it will feature a talk by local author Quentin Falk on his investigations into the Musical Milkman Murder resulting in a book guaranteed to intrigue readers. Quentin will talk about the book and the murderer as part of the festival.





News about the cancellation of the Donkey Derby feature in Bull’s Eye on page 2 and there’s concerns about road safety issues in Town Lane voiced in a letter on page 3. Don’t miss reading Marina Life and the amazing revelation that a little engine grease can work wonders!


Bourne End Youth Club features on page 11 with a story and pictures. They’re a new group with lots of plans and an enthusiastic team of leaders along with great youngsters. More youngsters feature on page 17 and they’re from Wye Valley School. Reaching the final of a national dance competition is a great achievement.

Claytons Bell Tower features on page 25 in its new location at the school which retained its name. Fully restored and now an eyecatching feature in the playing field the official opening welcomed former pupils with lots of memories of the old school and its bell which summoned them to school every day.


Lots more in the issue including a full page of events talking place at Wooburn Festival. A good read packed with local information. When published there was a great sense of Olympic anticipation and an invitation from the editor to send Olympic pictures for inclusion in the October/November issue.
