Sir Stanley Spencer is widely acclaimed as one of the greatest of British artists. Born in Cookham, this year is the 125th anniversary of his birth and has become known as 'The Year of Stanley Spencer' with celebratory exhibitions being held in Britain and abroad. This talk looks at how he gained his reputation and why he called his home village 'A Holy Suburb of Heaven’.

Chrissy Rosenthal has been associated with the Stanley Spencer Gallery for more than 20 years. As part of the Management Committee she has been responsible
for many of the public presentations, both in person and audio visual. Her latest role has been creating the fascinating material now being used on the audio guides which
accompany the current exhibition.

centreTalks are held on the 2nd Thursday each month at Bourne End Community Centre.

Tickets are available from the Community Centre office and bar price £4 (£3 for Community Association members) or on the door price £5 (£4 for members).
